I got this for my husband. He is not a major gamer, but was mostly interested in the backlit keys, as he is a night owl and this allowed use in darker light. He loves it! The response is good, mouse is ergonomic, and just enough brightness to see well, without the lights on to disturb others. Plus, it looks cooler than a standard keyboard and mouse too. He's loving this set!
Raised keyboard with steel edge under keys that reflects some of the RGB light beyond the keyboard, Under the keys is a white translucent plastic that makes the RGB lighting very evenly distributed. Other RGB keyboards have no similar mechanism for such even light distribution, you can see bright and dark areas on those other keyboards. This method really looks cooler. I only received it 13 hours ago and so far see four lighting modes and four breathing modes. You can speed up or slow down the breathing function. The rotating knob at top right corner of keyboard is useable to adjust RGB lighting brightness, switch RGB modes and also media (volume) control. The function keys have media functions well covered. It connects instantly via a 2.4GHz USB-A dongle which helps extend battery life versus Bluetooth. Keyboard arrived with full charge already, mouse needed to be topped off. After 5 minutes the mouse and keyboard go into sleep mode, but touch any key or click mouse and it instantly returns. The keys are full-travel and make a medium clackety sound, to me nicer than the louder switches. There are several other features to support gaming use, they are described on the Amazon webpage. The mouse has distinct RGB lighting along lower sides and the rear 1/3 of mouse and a few other spots. It is a good looking mouse with up to 4,200 DPI. I have a couple other RGB keyboards/mouses. One that costs 2x what this one does and has more RGB mode choices, but the even lighting and moderate flexibility on this CHONCHOW board looks much better, and the mouse is hands-down superior in its display characteristics. This is a very reasonably priced keyboard/mouse with very good RGB functionality that appears to be very well manufactured. I really like it.
Gaming keyboard and mouse - both wireless. Comes with short charging cable. The instruction manual isn't great. A very nice feature on the mouse is that you can have it charging with the cord and use it while charging because the charging port is located in the FRONT of the mouse, not on the bottom of the mouse. The keyboard has different color modes and brightness levels and can be changed by clicking / spinning the large knob on the upper right corner of the keyboard. I am using this on my Linux box and it works great. I'm not a huge gamer, but this keyboard and mouse are very versatile and have many options. The mouse has several optional buttons and is not as heavy as a LogiTech mouse of this size. It is comfortable to the hand. The mouse clicks are not annoyingly loud. On the keyboard, I appreciate the backlighting so when working in a dark room, I can see the keyboard. The keys are removable and are spaced nicely. The keyboard also has retractable kickstand. Very responsive. It is a large, standard keyboard; kind of old school but with so many cool options. Compatible with all the popular distributions.
