This wireless keyboard and mouse combo offers a compelling package for anyone seeking a clean, modern input solution that works seamlessly across multiple platforms. The combination of thoughtful features, solid build quality, and cross-platform compatibility makes this set stand out in a crowded market. Quiet Operation: One of the most immediately noticeable features is how genuinely quiet both the keyboard and mouse are during use. The keyboard produces minimal sound when typing, making it ideal for shared workspaces, late-night work sessions, or any environment where clacking keys would be disruptive. The mouse clicks are similarly subdued, providing tactile feedback without the loud snapping sounds that many mice produce. If you've ever been self-conscious about disturbing others while working or gaming, this quiet operation is a legitimate game-changer that reduces stress and improves the overall user experience. LED Backlighting: The backlit keyboard is more than just an aesthetic feature – it's genuinely practical for low-light situations. Whether you're working in a dimly lit room, during evening hours, or in any environment where ambient lighting is less than ideal, the backlighting ensures you can see the keys clearly without straining. The illumination is even and well-distributed across the keyboard, and while I can't speak to adjustable brightness levels without having tested those specific settings, the lighting provides good visibility without being overly bright or distracting. Rechargeable Battery System: The rechargeable design eliminates the ongoing hassle and expense of replacing disposable batteries. Simply charge the keyboard and mouse when needed, and you're back in business. The advertised long battery life means you're not constantly tethered to a charging cable – you can go extended periods between charges depending on your usage patterns. This rechargeable approach is not only more convenient but also more environmentally responsible than constantly cycling through disposable batteries. Wireless Connectivity: The 2.4GHz wireless connection provides reliable, lag-free performance without the clutter of cables across your desk. The USB-C receiver is compact and unobtrusive, and the wireless range should be more than adequate for typical desktop setups. The freedom from cables creates a cleaner workspace and allows for more flexible positioning of your keyboard and mouse. Cross-Platform Compatibility: The broad compatibility is a major selling point. This combo works with Mac, Windows PCs, laptops, and even gaming consoles like PS5 and PS4. This versatility means you could use the same keyboard and mouse across different devices, switch between work and gaming setups, or simply have confidence that it will work if you change computers or platforms in the future. The universal compatibility eliminates concerns about being locked into a specific ecosystem. Design and Aesthetics: The black finish provides a sleek, professional appearance that fits well in various settings, from home offices to corporate environments. The overall design appears modern and minimalist without unnecessary embellishments, allowing it to blend seamlessly into different desk setups and décor styles. Typing Experience: While typing comfort is somewhat subjective, the keyboard layout appears well-designed for extended use. The quiet operation doesn't come at the expense of key travel or tactile response, which can sometimes be an issue with ultra-quiet keyboards. The keys should provide enough feedback to type accurately without the noise typically associated with mechanical or louder membrane keyboards. Mouse Functionality: The included mouse complements the keyboard well, offering quiet operation and wireless freedom. While not a gaming-focused mouse with extensive programmable buttons, it provides solid everyday functionality for general computing tasks, web browsing, and standard productivity work. Overall Assessment: This wireless keyboard and mouse combo successfully balances multiple desirable features: quiet operation, attractive backlighting, rechargeable convenience, wireless freedom, and broad compatibility. It's an excellent choice for anyone seeking a versatile, modern input solution that works across different devices and environments. Whether you're setting up a home office, upgrading your work-from-home setup, equipping a shared workspace, or simply replacing aging peripherals, this combo offers solid value and reliable performance. The quiet operation alone makes it worth considering if noise is a concern, while the rechargeable batteries and cross-platform support add layers of practical value that enhance the overall package.

This is an interesting gaming keyboard and mouse. First off, its is a budget item that costs only $30 at Amazon and you get quite a lot of value for that low cost. The keys are nearly silent, just some faint clackety-clack sounds, so it can be used in quiet places like when a spouse is sleeping. Most gaming keyboards make a lot of racket, which is sometimes desired but there are times when I like to work or play quietly. I don't even like audible clicking on the mouse paddles or clicking on the mouse wheel. This combo is plenty quiet. The keys have just the right amount of pushback and modest vertical travel -- they operate smoothly and reliably. The construction is pretty robust. You can tell through your fingers that this 'board should last quite a while. The keys travel about 50% to 75% of the vertical distance that pure mechanical keyboards do. I am so used to using laptops for 30 years that mechanical keyboards feel awkward to media he longer travel up and down. I really like RGB backlighting, so I have tried over a dozen RGB keyboards over the past 2.5 years and most of them are on a shelf in their cartons. This Chonchow W301A has been easier for me from the moment I removed it from the box. Ironic -- one of the leaast expensive keyboards feels superior to many others! Connecting to an iMac was absolute simplicity. I removed the prior 2.4GHz dongle, Apple Magic Mini Keyboard and Logitech MX Anywhere 2S mouse, plugged in the ChonChow 2.4GHz dongle, turned on the keyboard and mouse and immediately logged on. No messing around, no issues, truly just plug in and play. I was initially disappointed in that there are only two modes to the keyboard RGB lighting, namely continuous on and breathing mode. You can only alter the brightness, there is no provision for changing the frequency of the breathing cycles. Many of the prior RGB keyboards had much greater flexibility and choices with as many as ten different modes of lighting. But, then, many of those keyboards cost three or four times what the W301A costs. To get a competent and reliable RGB keyboard like this for $30 including an RGB mouse is pretty reasonable, so I am okay with the limited lighting choices. I run the static lighting mode on the keyboard at the brightest settings so I can more easily see the keys. The breathing mode cycles rather slowly and is a little boring so I am not so keen to run that, but sometimes I do anyway. As for the mouse, there is no provision for controlling the lighting. There you get a switch that turns on with RGB or turns on with no RGB. But at least the mouse has a frosted window at the rear end to show off a nearly 3/4" x 2-1/2" window displaying a continuous breathing cycle. It is as slow as the keyboard cycle, but for some reason it does not bug me at all -- I rather like that slow breathing cycling though the colors on the mouse. Maybe that wide apron makes a difference? I plan to only turn off the lighting if I think the battery is going low (because I am lazy!). So far the battery seems to last forever, I only turned the light off once in the beginning when I was trying the keyboard & mouse before charging them. I am retired and have cataracts in my eyes that reduce contrast such that it is increasingly difficult to see well in dim light. Leaving the RGB lights on in static display mode helps a lot. The white characters on the black keycaps top surfaces seem illuminated and the backlighting from below and around the skirt of the keycaps helps my vision. While I am not getting the excitement I want from the RGB lights, there are several more RGB components at my workstation that keep me happy. Bottom line: this is a reliable, well-made and well-performing keyboard and mouse that does not cost an arm and a leg.
